The Kings of Vijayanagar

Among Vijayanagar kings Harihar II and prince Dang were initiated in Jainism who paid respect to Jain monks. Dharmabhushan, the Digamber saint was the instructor of King Devaraya and Acharya Vidyanand was respectfully invited to the court of Devaraya and Krishnaraya for religious discourse. He protected Jainism at Karkal village. King Bukkaraya made supreme efforts for the unity among Jains and Vaishnavas.
