Bhagawan Shantinath

Mulnayak: Nearly 90 cms. High, white - Colored idol of Bhagawan Shantinath in the Padmasana posture.

How to reach: It is in a Jain street in the center of the Kothara village. One can reach here from Mandavi via Suthera.  Bhuj is 80 Kms from here. Buses and taxis easily go up and down. There are Dharmashala and Bhojanashalas.

Historicity: This sacred place belongs to the group of the five sacred places of the Abadasa Taluk On the thirteenth day of the bright half of the month of Magh in the year 1918 of the Vikram era, it was formally installed by Acharya Ratnasagarsuriji of Achalagachchha. The writer of the poem ‘Kesharji Nayak’ on the Shetrunjay temple was a native of this place. This temple is also named ‘Kalyan Tonk’. Around this temple, there is a high fort with five cells. The gate is 12 feet high and 6 feet broad. The double - storied temple is very well carved and attractively sculptured. The flags of the eight peaks present a fantastic view.
