76 cms high, sandal colored idol of Bhagawan Adinath in Padmasana posture.
How
to reach: the
tirth is on the main road in the Upariyala village at a distance of 86 kilometers from
Shankheswar and 20 kilometers from Viramgam. It is in the Dasada Taluk of Surendranagar
district of Gujarat. Conveyance facilities are available here. There are good provisions
for boarding and lodging.
Historicity: . It is believed that this temple belongs to a period prior
to the fifteenth century of the Vikram era. This idol was formally installed by His
Holiness Acharya Shri Bhaktisurisvarji in the newly built temple, on the thirteenth day of
the bright half of the month of Magh in the year 1944 of the Vikram. It is stated that
idol was found by a farmer from his field as per hints received in his dreams. The Akhand
Jyoti gives lampblack of saffron. Every year on the eighth day of the bright half of the
month of Fagun, a fair is held here. In the
compound of the newly built temple, the idol in the Kausagga posture, is 181 inches high.
It is made of Panch Dhatu(five metals alloy).The wall pictures of the temples made of glass and the
events of Jain stories are well illustrated.. Besides, there are idols of Neminath,
Ajitnath, Mahavir Swami, Shankheshvar Parshvanath, Mallinath, Chakreshvaridevi and
Gaumukhji..
