Mulnayak: Idol of Bhgawan neminath

How to reach:-this place is 23 Kms from bellur on udgere-sakleshpur road.

Historicity:- this place is closely associated with hoysala kings. it is stated that the King Sal  was given the title of Poysal(hoysal) by Muni Sudutt when the King went to worship the devi vasantikamma ( Devi Padvamati). it is stated that King sal has chased away a tiger at the instance of Muni sudutt with the help of a cane.  the idol of vasantikamma is made of clay and is repordetly 1000 years old. about one furlong from vasantika temple,  the   neminath temple is on a small hillock in the forest. The mulnayak idol is of 8 feet of black stone. another temple is  known as ratantray basdi built in 1050 AD. The idols of Bhagwan Arahnath- Bhagwan Mallinath and Bhagwan Munisuvartswami are installed in the Main vedi. The idol of Yakshi Kushmanadani is also very attractive. One may also visit the village hanyuru and see ancient parsvanath temple.
