Shimoga District has numerous ancient jain temples. Some of the famous ones are:-

Art and architecture at shimoga District: bakod     bandlike    chikkamagadi    udri       

a) bidnur:-In sagar taluka is knwon for Parsvanath  basdi where idols of 14-15 CAD are installed. A ruined choumukha choubisi is very attractive.

Bakod and nearby temples:-Haleman basdi- 10-11 CAd idols and other bronze choubisi could be seen here.

Olegere basdi: 15 CAD choubisi with Parsvanath as mulnayak.

Katinkere basdi:-Bronze choubisi; 4.5 feet high idol of Bhagwan Ananatnath in Kayotsarg posture

kadrur basdi:- 14 CAD choubisi with Bhagwan Mahavir as Mulnayak in Padmasan.

Kaladi

    Here the idols of 12 to 15 CAD are installed. An idol of Bhagwan parsvanath of 1328Ad  of bronze is very attractive.. The other basdi is known as Induvani basdi

Avalinadu:- in Sorab taluka is known for nirvana of munis and shravaka.

Kupattur:- In sorab taluka is known for Parsvanath basdi of 11 CAD.. An idol of bhagwan parsvanath in Padmasan is very attractive.. the other idols of bhagwan adinath; bhagwan parsvanath and bhagwan mahavir could also be seen here.

bandalike:- in sorab taluka is known for Shantinath basdi of 11 CAD in ruined condition. this temple is also known as Javiayakve temple after the name of the queen who has attained samadhi ( sallekhana) here.

balligavi:-in Shikarpur taluka is knwon for ruined basdi of 11 CAD where the idols of Parsvanath and Devi Ambika of 3 feet are still there in ruined conditions.

chikkamagadi:- in Shikaripur taluka is known for Shantinath temple of 14 CAD

Udri:- in shikaripur taluka is known for Panch basdi; kanak basdi and erag temple

Kundanbetta:-Idol,of Bhagwn  Chandraprabh in the basdi is installed in the temple.
