Shri Aastha (Vighanahar Parsvanath) Tirth

 

Mulnayak: Idol of Bhagwan Parsvanath

How to reach: Aastha is 51 Kms from Osmanabad and 64 Kms from sholapur. This Tirth is five Kms from village Osagagaon, situated on Sholapur-Hyderabad highway. The boarding and lodging arrangements are provided in two rooms adjoining temple.

Historicity: This village was known as Kasaar Aasta. The complete name of the Tirth is ‘Shri Digamabar jain Vighanahara Parsvanath Digamabar Jain Atisay Kshetra Kasaar Aasta’. The idol of Bhagwan Parsvanath is very miraculous and destroy the worries and sins of the devotees. Legends state that once the idol was shifted to avouid the destruction by some Muslim rulers, the cart carrying the idol could not move and a devotee has a dream that the idol should not be shifted. The idol was reinstalled at the present temple. The local people considers the idol as their village Lord.
