Mulnayak: about 105 cms high black stone Idol of Bhagwan Chandraparbh in padmasan
How to reach: The Digamabar Jain Caves temples,Chandwad is in district Nasik near village of Chandwad. Post office is also at Chandwad. This village is on Manmad-Mangitungi route and 40 kms from Satana on the way to Mangitungi.The dharamshala is avaialble in the village.
Historicity:Shri Chandranath Digamabar Jain cave is on the east of the village among the hills. There is about 75 cms high idol of Bhagwan Parsvanath and two 120 cms high idols of Tirthanakaras in Standing posture. There are other idols of Yaksh, yakshis. All the idols are of black stone. These idols are stated to be of 8th CAD. A new temple was constructed in the village where the Mulnayak idol of Bhagwan Adinath is installed.This idol has an inscription showing that the idol was installed on vikram 1292 on 12th day of bright moon in the month of Phalgun.. Besdies these temples, there are 2 svetamabar temples-One dedicated to Bhagwan Chandranath and other dedicated to Bhagwan Adinath.
