Mulnayak: Seven hooded idol of Bhagwan Parsanath

How to reach: Muktagiri is 65 Kms from Amravati in maharastra. The Tirth 52 temples are on the hilltop involving a climb for one mile.The lodging and boarding facilities are available in the dharamshala.

Historicity: It is said that 3,50,00,000/ muni attained nirvana from this place. The name Muktagiri or mendagiri is derived from the even of showering of pearls by a dev named Menda. The story goes that once a Jain muni recited the sacred ‘navkar mantra’ in the ears of a dying frog and the frog was reborn as a powerful dev because of listening of navkar mantra and in gratitude, he showered pearls at that place. This place is told to be near temple No. 40 on the Hill.

          In the foothills, the temple dedicated to Bhagwan Adinath and mahavir Swami are artistically made. There are 52 temples on the Hill and the temple no. 1 is dedicated to Bhagwan parsvanath. This temple is a good example of jaina art of sculptures and architecture.  These temples are of 15 CAD. The temple No. 40 dedicated to Bhagwan Sheetalnath is carved out of hill rocks. The decoration by carvings on pillars and ceiling is marvelous. There is a water fall which creates a very pleasant scene at this temple.
