Mulnayak: Idol of Bhagwan Ajitnath

How to Reach: Shri Digamabar Jain Atishay Kshetra, Bandha is 10 Kms south of Bamhori-Barana village in Distt. Tikamgarh. It is 50 Kms from Tikamgarh on way to Jhansi via niwari. Dharmshala facilities are avilable at the tirth.

Historicity: Bandha is one of the seven Bhoyare (underground celler) (pava; Deogarh;  seron; karguan; bandha;papora and thuvon)of bundelkhand region. Legends suggestes that these seven bhoyare were built by two brothers Deopat and Khevpat. The mulnayak idol of Bhagwan ajitnath was installed in Samvat 1199 (1142AD).  On the either side of the Mulnayak, idols of Bhagwan rishabhdev and Sambhavnath are also  of the same period and were installed in samvat 1209. Another idol of Bhagwan Neminath is also installed here(samvat 1209).. Besides the bhoyara, a temple with 65 feet high  built in 18 CAD is very impressive. this was built by  the Relgious mother of one Seth Girdharlalji. Many legends and miracles are associated with this tirth. People of all faith come here to fulfill their wishes. It is reported that in 1953, Acharya Mahavirkirtiji Maharaj has put some gandhodak of Abhisek in a dry well which started giving water.

    The local authorities has  done a remarkable job as much as they have collected numerous jain idols scattered nearby and kept at a place to make it a sort of meuseum. one must see the meuseum to have the idea of rich hertiage of art and architecture.
