Shri Panihar-Barai-Khaniaghan Tirth

 

Panihar railway station is 24 Kms from Gwalior. The Panihar village is 2 Kms from the station and the ancient Jain choubisi temple is in the center of village. 3 Kms from Panihar, at village barai, there are numerous ruins of ancient Jain temples. Notable among them is 18 feet high idol of a tirthankar. One can go to Khaniaghan from Panihar via shivpuri. There are 2 ancient temples with very artistic idols of tirthankars. There is a manastambh in front of one of the temple. Gudar- Golakot- Pachrai are other Jain centers in the area
