Mulnayak: 5 mts high idol of Bhagwan Shantinath ji

How to reach: This Tirth is 30 Kms from Murena on Gwalior-Agra road. It is 1 Kms from Sihonia police station. The dharamshala is available for stay.

Art and architecture: Bhagwan Shantinath temple

 

Historicity: the ancestors of King Surajmal, King of Gwalior, established this place about 2000 years ago. In the ancient time, this place was a strong center of Jain art and architecture and temples. In 10 CAD, the Tirth was plundered and remained ignored until start of 20 CAD when the renovation started. The idol of Mulnayak Shantinath is very magnificent and attractive even today. The idol of Bhagwan Kunthunath and Bhagwan Arahnath is on the either side of the Mulnayak.  Some more idols of 10-11 CAD were found during excavation.
