In ancient times, this tirth was known as Devkapatak. It was a large city. Its last renovation was accomplished in the year 1954 of the Vikram era. Shetrunjayavatar and Girnaravatar are installed on two hills here. There was a sulsterranean passage from here to Nagda. This tirth belongs to the group of five tirths of Mewar. There are three other temples and they belong to the fifteenth century. The sculpture of this place reminds one of Abu, Ranakpur and Kumbhariji. The craftsmanship of the peaks, domes, pillars etc. of the temples is really wonderful. The Charan (feet) of Bhagawan Adinath, the idols of Draupadi, Kunti and Pandavas are ancient idols of artistry beyond description. There are large ancient idols in the cellar.
