Shri Jakhoda Tirth

Mulnayak: Nearly 35 cms. high, Red - Saffron - Colored idol of Bhagwan, Shantinath in the Padmasana posture.

How to reach: It is among the hills of the Jakhoda village 8 kms from Shivganj. The nearest railway station of Javai-Dam is 13 kilometers away and it is six kilometers away from Sumerpur. There are board and lodging provisions. Bus services and Private vehicles are available.


Historicity: The Anjanshalaka ceremoney of these idol was performed under the auspices of Acharya Mantungasurisvarji in the 15th century of the Vikram era. This tirth is ancient and miraculous. Here, there was a great scarcity of water. There was no possibility of getting water in this sandy land. but on the indication of the presiding digging was doneand accordingly, sweet water was found in abundance. Even today, many miracles happen.
