Shri Jhalarpatan Tirth

Mulnayak: Nearly 360 cms idol of Bhagwan Shantinath in Standing posture.

How to reach: Shri Shantinath Digamabar Jain atisaay kshetra Jhalarpatan is  on the Delhi mumbai rail route and is 32 Kms from The Jhalawad road station. This tirth is also connected by road from Koota, ajmer, Jaipur , indore etc. The town is the headquarter of Jhalawad district.

Historicity:   Jhalarpatan lierally means the town of layers of bells. The ancient temple of Bhagwan shantinath was built in 1109 Ad by one Shah Papa Humad and the idol was installed under the guiadence of  Bhavdev Suri Ji maharaj. The presenrt temple is constructed at the same site and the idol is consideed to be the idol of he ancient temple. The two stone elephants at the gate are very huge and attractive. There are numerous ancient idols and the inscriptions on those idol proves their antiquity and the historicity of their installation. These idols were mainly installed by munisangh of Balatargana of Idar.

    Jhalarpatan is also famous for the ancien temple of Lord Shiva namely Sheeteshwar mahadev.
