Kashindra Tirth
Mulnayak: 75 cms high,
white-colored idol of Bhagawan Shantinath in the Padmasana posture.
How to Reach: It is in the
Kishindra village 2.5 Kms from Bharja on Sirohi-Abu Road. The nearest railway station of
Abu Road is at a distance of 16 kilometers. The river of Banas passes through it. Bus
service and private vehicles are available. There is no good lodging accommodation.
Historicity: There is an inscription showing that the ancient name of
this place was Kashihrud. In this temple, there is a small temple, which has on it an
inscription of the year 1091 of the Vikram era. According to the inscription on the seat
of Mulnayak, this temple was renovated and the idol was installed in the year 1234 of the
Vikram era. The donation given by brave Shravakas during the battle between Shahbuddhin
Ghori and King Dharavarsa, for the protection of this tirth, deserves to be mentioned.
Under inspiration of Acharyas, the Shravakas of this place participated in religious
activities and showed the influence of religion. A flag is hoisted every year on the tenth
day of the bright half of the month Vaishakh
