Shri Korta Tirth

Mulnayak: Nearly 135 cms. High, white - colored idol of Bhagawan Mahavir Swami in the Padmasana posture.

How to reach: It is in a lonely place outside the Korta Village in Pali District of Rajasthan. Javai-bandh (dam), the nearest railway station is 24 Kilometers away and the nearest town, Shivganj is 8 Kilometers away. Bus service and private vehicles are available. There are boarding and lodging provisions.
Historicity: There is a scriptural evidence to show that this temple was built on the fifth day of the bright half of the month of Magha after a period of 70 years of Mahavir’s anniversary. There is a reference that under the instructions of Jayvijaygani this tirth was revived in the year 1728 of the Vikram era and since the old idol was lost; a new idol was installed. Since the new idol was also broken, another new idol was installed under the auspices of Vijayarajendrasuraji on the fifteenth day of the bright half of the month of Vaishakh in the year 1959 of the Vikram era. The ancient idol is there even today on the open square besides there is an ancient temple in the village. It has a very ancient and beautiful idol. The ancient idol of Mulnayak is very charming and artistic. There are ancient arched gates and many artistic remains of the thirteenth century. There is a museum under the temple.
