Shri Parasnath Fort
How to reach: kila parasnath also known as kashiwala is 6 Kms from illage post badapur in tehsil nagina of Bijnore distt. UP.This place is 180 Kms from delhi, 80 Kms from hastinapur jain center. Regular bus service is available from delhi/meerut to Nagina. nagina and najibabad railway station are 20 and 40 kms from the Kila parasnath.From nagina, one can take local bus to village Badapur and from Badapur the place is 6 Kms could be covered by local means. The kshetra vehicle could be called to pick up from badapur on prior intimation.
Historicity: this kshetra is of pre 5-6 CAD when jain civilisation was flourshing in this area. this appears to be the part of empire of pandava and part of jain empire of Hastinapur region. in recent time this place came to light in early fifties when one sikh discovered the ruined jain temples.This was earlier part of forest and during pre-independece era, the land was given on lease to one army retired Sikh family. they cleaned the forest for cultivation. Now the village has around 20 sikh family. There are ruins of this fort available now. A King named Paras constructed the fort. An 80 cms high idol of Bhagwan mahavir swami and other idols were of 11 AD was found in early 1950's and installed in nearby temples of Bijnore and nagina. Theseruins are held in high esteem by local non-jain populations and local has strong faith in the miracles of DEvi Jwalamalini for fulfilling their wishes and overcoming their miseries.It is beleived that many more idols of tirthanakara, yaksh yakshni are still there in the ruins of ancient structure. the idol of yakhni Jwalamalini, sasan devi of bhagwan Chandraprabhu was found in 2003 and a small jain temple was constructed. A meuseum for storing ancient broken idols of high art value is under construction. There is dharashala with boarding anfd lodging facility.
