Historicity: The Miraculous idol of Bhagwan Chandraprabh was discovered while escavating the ganga canal at Sardhana about 200 years ago during the rule of Begum Sumru, the ruling lady ordered the idol to be taken away fron her kingdom and when the idol was being shifted to hastinapur, the cart  carrying the idol was halted at Mahalaka at night. Next day, the idol became too heavy to be moved further, a noble soul was told in his dream to install the idol at Mahalaka itself. The Idol was installed at the jain temple where ancient idol of Bhagwan parsvanath was already there. After the installation of the idol of Bhagwan chandraprabhu, it is stated that numerous miracles took place. legends tells us that prior to installation of this idol, thje jain couples of the village were childlessbut after the arrival of this idol, The jain community flourished and propered. However, the jain population left the village to settle at big town/city and this temple was looked after by the local Jains. The renovation of this temple started with the blessings of Acharaya Bahubali in year 2000 and it is miracle of the tirth that all difficulties in development of the tirth were overcome and development is progressing as planned. The temple  has acquired land nearby and it is proposed to construct the entrance and manastabh at eastern side of the Temple as advised by Acharyas. With the active support of Jain community, it is hoped that glory of this ancient atishay tirth center will spread again.
